I have previously been teaching in a structured teaching environment for 9 years covering business subjects at degree level. Some of my teaching methods where not so suited to Teaching English and I was very pleased that Stephen paid special attention to these areas and worked to make very necessary adjustments to my teaching style and offered many ideas on how to achieve this. I had to go through an “unlearning” phase, and learn culture and etiquette appropriate to teaching foreign students. Group work and peer review combined very well with the class teaching practice, which enabled good quality analysis and feedback after each session. I am now teaching in China and I am still using my class notes from the course !
